Artist statement

My work exists between containment and release. These paintings explore the psychological heat of becoming — when emotion, memory, and inner pressure push against the body as identity shifts. Fragmented figures emerge and dissolve into color and gesture, reflecting transition and flux. Through layered surfaces and scraping, I build tension, letting it break where needed. The interplay between opacity and transparency mirrors the negotiation between protection and vulnerability. Heat becomes a metaphor for friction — activating change, rupture, and renewal. These works speak to becoming as it unfolds: unstable, charged, and necessary.
